Be it on the Herrenchiemsee or Fraueninsel islands or Bernau's »Seebuehne« theatre stage on Lake Chiemsee: From April to October, you can enjoy many different concerts and performances for all tastes and age groups. At a 30 minute drive, you can visit Kufstein in Austria. Beautifully situated, it boasts a historical town centre with a castle and many museums. The Austrian cities of Innsbruck and Salzburg are also fast and easy to reach by Autobahn. Rosenheim suggests itself for a shopping spree and is well known for its interesting exhibitions in the »Lokschuppen«. If you love nature and want to go for a hike in the mountains, you have a vast choice of possibilities: In 20 minutes, for example, you reach the station of the Wendelsteinbahn cable car, which takes you through a breathtakingly beautiful scenery up to an altitude of 1,800 metres above sea level. Last but not least, it is just a 45 minute drive to Munich's city centre.
